Reconnecting files
Reconnecting missing files in the Elements Organizer
If you move, rename, or delete a file outside Elements Organizer, a missing file icon appears on top of the item in
the Media Browser when you attempt to perform an action on it.
Note: This missing icon may also appear for files so large that the Elements Organizer cannot generate a thumbnail for them.
By default, Elements Organizer automatically tries to reconnect missing and renamed files as it encounters them. It
does so by looking for files with the same name, modification date, and size as the missing files, and reconnects them
to the catalog.
Elements Organizer users in the United States can sign up with an Adobe ID. The membership allows you to back up
and synchronize albums and catalogs in multiple computers to Photoshop.com. If you have backed up/synchronized
your files to Photoshop.com, you can fetch and reconnect to files backed up on Photoshop.com.
You can interrupt an auto-reconnect and browse for the file using the Reconnect Missing Files dialog box. This dialog
box is useful if you want Elements
Organizer to look for missing files in a particular folder.
