Chapter 12: Exporting and publishing
Publish Online (Preview)
This feature is available in North America (en_US) and UK (en_GB) only.
What is Publish Online (Preview)?
With Publish Online, you can repurpose your documents by publishing them online. You can publish a digital version
that works on destops and laptops, in any modern web browser, without the need to install a plugin.
You can publish any InDesign document that includes buttons, slideshows, animation, audio, and video using the
interactive authoring features of InDesign CC.
After you publish your documents, you can provide the online document URL to anyone to view the document in a
beautiful, yet simple, online reading experience, on destops and laptops, and on any platform. You can even share the
online document in Facebook.
What is a technology preview feature?
Technology previews are services and features that Adobe releases to customers before they are feature complete or fully
tested. A technology preview feature, such as Publish Online, provides you with the opportunity to try out the feature
and provide early input to the InDesign team. This input can then be used by the team to further enhance the feature
before it is available in a subsequent InDesign release.
Note: It must be noted that technology preview features are not production-ready. And as such, you need to exercise
discretion when you use this feature for critical work / documents.
